SNG strategy

I’ve decided to quit playing ring games to avoid the sudden changes in my bank roll (maybe cause I don’t play tight enough) From now on I will focus on Sn’G and tournaments. Is anybody here willing to share their experience? At the moment I’m doing rather well. At least I’m not loosing any money but I’m still stuck at the low buy-ins <5$. Right now I’m playing rather loose preflop and aggressive post flop. Does anybody have any tips how I can improve my strategy?

Usually I start of tight mainly due to two reasons. First of all there is no rush and you always have time to wait for a good starting hand. Secondly I like to build up an image on the table of being a tight player to gain respect when I decide to battle it out. Another advantage that comes with playing tight in the beginning is that you get time over to analyze your opponents, see who’s tight, loose, having a bad beat, tilting, etc.
Once the blinds increase and the number of opponents is lower you can drop the passive act and play more hands and a looser game.

I quick tip on how to play on low levels. Don’t play turbo SnG, you definitely wont make any money unless your lucky with your starting hands. It’s gonna be more like a lottery than poker. But like bulldog said: you can afford playing few hands in the beginning to build up a tght table image. Once the stakes get higher you just change to a more aggressive playing style.

I agree…

But my expirience is that expirienced players dont play on the low-limit turbo tables so only the fish remain. You know the ones that only call if they have a great hand.
I’ve found that there is some really easy money on these table if you play aggressive. Funny to see how thay moan when I raise the stakes for the fifth time in a row.
I ussaly vary between slow $20 - $50 SNG and these low turbo.

Actually I use to low turbos when i feel like tilting. =)
When my game is slow and I feel like tilting I just play in one of these fishponds and then I feel allot better. So I see your point in varying

My game is better now, I try to wait for the right hand before I start playing. Won one yesterday and today I came third…. Feels really nice. =)
Must admit that I was a bit lucky in the one I won. Had a K 10, called the big blind (there was only four of us that saw the flop.) 5 10 10 so I went all-in. One called and showed a A 10… Damn!... but the river gave me a full house with 10 10 10 K K. Luck?
